Re-verified 1 August 2026: the national retirement-extension rule applies to a holder of non-immigrant status aged at least 50 who meets the published financial test. O-A is applied for through the Thai mission in the applicant's country of nationality or residence and adds medical, criminal-record and insurance evidence.
Official sources reopened 1 August 2026: MFA O-A guidance (EN); กรมการกงสุล O-A guidance (TH); Immigration Bureau O-A guideline (EN/TH); and Immigration retirement checklist (EN/TH).

02 · Insurance and evidence
What is actually published.
The O-A insurance requirement is a coverage rule, not a reliable premium estimate. The former age-based premium ranges and long-horizon cost projections could not be re-verified against an official source and are withdrawn. The national rule also publishes an alternative deposit-plus-other-coverage mechanism where an insurer refuses coverage, subject to its evidence conditions.
03 · Route choice
Use the applicant's actual status and documents.
A retirement extension requires qualifying non-immigrant status and the current Immigration evidence. O-A is an overseas mission application with its additional health, medical and criminal-record evidence. The reopened authorities do not publish Pattaya usage shares, local success rates, automatic switching, universal embassy-income-letter availability or a preferred route for an individual applicant.
04 · Claims withdrawn
Local and projected claims were not treated as rules.
The former Jomtien conversion list, re-entry-fee table, insurance-premium estimates, ten-year totals, foreign-policy refusal trend, spouse-finance statement, O-X comparison and LTR tax recommendation were not all re-proven from the sources reopened this run. They are removed rather than carried forward as national rules.
