Pillar guide: Non-O extension Pattaya — Jomtien guide

Full guides: Non-O retirement visa · Jomtien Immigration · Queue times · Re-entry permits

Scope: extension, not first visa

This checklist concerns an extension of temporary stay on the retirement basis. As published by Immigration and checked 1 August 2026, the applicant must already hold non-immigrant status and be at least 50 years old. Initial visa issuance or an in-country change of visa category is a different procedure.

National core documents

Financial routes and account maintenance

As published by Uttaradit and Phitsanulok Immigration and checked 1 August 2026, the national retirement criteria provide these routes:

The older “three months before every application” wording and the claim that a longer history is always safer were not retained. Current provincial Immigration guidance checked 1 August 2026 states two months before application.

What the official sources do not establish

We could not confirm from a current official Chonburi checklist the previous claims about a fixed application window, a bank letter valid for a particular number of days, two photographs, a hand-drawn map, mandatory lease and TM30 copies for every retirement case, accepted account types, or automatic rejection of mobile screenshots. Ask Chonburi Immigration for its current local supporting-document list before attending.

Jomtien practice claims withdrawn

The earlier assertions about Building A, a compulsory collared shirt and closed shoes, rejection at the door for shorts, same-day processing, queue behaviour, and specific bank preferences were not supported by an official Chonburi source reopened for this update. They are no longer presented as rules.

After approval

Check the permission stamp and retain the financial evidence. Re-entry permission and address-reporting obligations are separate Immigration procedures; verify them from their dedicated official guidance before travel or a reporting deadline.

Non-O vs O-A strategic note

The Immigration handbook checked 1 August 2026 identifies the insurance-document requirement specifically for applicants in the stated Non-Immigrant O-A criterion. Do not transfer O-A document rules automatically to an ordinary Non-O retirement extension. See O-A guide and O-A insurance requirements.

Income evidence

The official handbook checked 1 August 2026 gives pension, interest, and dividends as examples of income evidence. It does not support the previous universal claims about lifetime-guarantee wording, apostilles, or acceptance of particular countries' social-security documents; confirm the form of evidence with the processing office.

Property ownership and Non-O

The published retirement criteria checked 1 August 2026 list income, deposit, and combined financial routes; property ownership is not one of those financial routes.
